WHAT UP everyone, new to riding and motorcycles in general. Looking to find out whether or not I will need to upgrade my battery(without killing it first) after electrical related upgrades to include: Bazzaz E-FI, HID Headlights, Integtated LED Tail lights, Flush mount LED front turn sigs. Thinking about the Full Spectrum Pulse P1 as the replacement because it drops the weight about 7lbs so it would be killing two birds with one stone. Any thoughts would be appreciated
LED bulbs pull much less electricity than filament bulbs.
The Bazzaz unit probably is typical of electronics and doesn't use much.
Stock H4 headlight bulb is 55/60 watts, your HID might be less (35 watts?).
Weight saving is a consideration, but what is the cost per pound?
Sweet, I thought so... But I could not find the watt usage for the kit I ordered (BikeMaster HID Light Kits from SportbikeTrackGear.com) I intially assumed it would match the stock bulbs if not use more. As for the the battery, I can get it for $145 so thats roughly $21 a pound. From all the research I have done you cant beat that as far as $'s per pound deductions in racing. Im obviously NOT a racer so I guess it probably isnt worth it unless Im looking to eeek an extra MPH or so of top end speed... Thanks for your insight
Those mods sound sick man, and chance on getting some pics? I have been thinking about putting some LED's on my bike, but not sure which kits to order.

Sure thing, my bike is in parts right now waiting on my Bazzaz but once it is back up and running I will post some pics on this thread. If you want some prices / info on the stuff I ordered just PM me and I will give you what I can.
It wouldn't be a battery you would need, but a stronger alternator. The battery just gets the engine turned over and up and running. The alternator keeps your engine and electronics powered while keeping the battery nice and charged.
What MATTCBR250 said is true. It's about the alternator, not the battery.
If this was a 1960's Triumph there might be an issue, but it is a modern Honda.
If it is worth it to you to save a few pounds then by all means go ahead, but electrically I don't see any justification.
I've done some looking into these batteries because they have also come out for my go-kart. the weight savings are amazing and other than changing out your stock exhaust you will not easily loose anywhere near as much on any other part. losing that much weight on the bike, and as high as it is, will help out in every aspect of riding from weight transfer to accelleration and stopping. aside from the weight savings, I'm told that the batteries don't degrade anywhere near as fast as the stock ones and they hold their charge longer, which is great when storing the bike over winter.
Hey guys, thats all good info and It makes sense now that I think about it... I think Im going to wait on the new battery until the stock battery needs replaced. On another note, does anyone have the HIGH TECH PROTON Flush mount turn signals? I sent back the hot bodies I ordered because they just look like **** and aren't very bright but I def want to go with flush mounts being that I have an integrated tail light on the way.
