ID Card Holders

I'm in the military and on a daily basis have to go through a Gate. I had this idea one day at work, it can help anyone else who has to deal with check points.

First take a Card Reader


Cut the cords and paint it whatever colors you want (Black)


Then get some 3M Velcro (I used DualLock plasic type) and attach to bike


Now you can make it through any, in a military case, gate without having to let go of the clutch (or going to natural)

Ive seen it near the rear tire, but havnt decided where to put mine.

My badge hangs on landyard and goes in the shirt poket, so I lean towards the reader, and there you go, dont need to get my hands off the bike

My badge holder is on my left arm. When I ride up to the guard I just point at it with my right hand. Sometimes they ask to see the back. However the holder is transparent plastic so I can just quickly flip it upside down.

I wear the reflective vest and it has a spot for my ID. When they ask to see it...I always just throw a fit while I take it out

I wear an Icon Mil-spec Mesh Vest with the ID holder which velcro's to the left side of the chest. I just lift my visor and sit up straight. Ive only had to take it out of the holder once. The guard was kind enough to do it for me.

We no longer require stickers on our vehicles which it sounds like most Military installations no longer require them either.

Some still use them as far as I know. I know I needed one for great lakes naval and fort gordon last time I was there.

Yeah last I heard they were getting rid of that rule. Whether or not they did, that the question. They forced us to do it and then two weeks later, they said we didn't need it anymore. Makes sense right?

We don't need stickers at Fort Sam Houston / Joint Base San Antonio. I think some bases still require them because the Army Depot at Corpus Christi asked me where my sticker was and I had to get a temporary pass there even though my wife and I had military IDs and our vehicle registration and insurance was up to date. The ID holder is pretty brilliant if it holds tightly enough that it doesn't fly out at highway speeds and you don't forget your ID in there when you get to work.
