Once the OEM fender was replaced with the Yoshi FE kit, the back end looked 95% better but something was still missing.
I wanted to tidy it up a bit further by moving the stock lights inward. All I did was purchase nuts, bolts and washers for less than $2.00 You could cut the bracket and weld it on like the video on Youtube but I am not a welder. Simply move the Yoshi bracket inwards and secure with the newly purchased nut and bolt. Yes, the bottom portion of that bracket will not fasten to the plate but it's very secure with just the two top ones on the plate.
I also painted the back of the license plate flat black so that it would not stand out.
I am 100% happy now
Here is a picture of the stock Yoshi FE Kit on the left and my modified Yoshi FE Kit on the right.
It's one of the best safety equipment you can get for $18.50 shipped and it was the very first mod for me. I want to survive for many more miles if possible.
The horn took about 10 minutes to install because it's the plug & play one. I didn't want to bother with the double unit because that one requires to purchase a relay and hook up the wires to the battery. No thanks for a few more decibles.
The exhaust took about 30 minutes to install. Also very easy to install since this unit is a simple slip-on unit.
The Yoshi FE kit was a bit harder, but not hard if you have patience and basic mechanical skills. Watch this Youtube video because it is very helpful. . If the link does not work, then search for "CBR 250R Fender Eliminator Kit Review" on Youtube. The Yoshimura kit is top-notch quality, made from metal pieces. Do not even bother with the cheap Hot Bodies plastic unit. You get what you pay for and the Yoshi unit will be worth it in the long run.
PIAA 70456 Xtreme White Plus H4 anti-vibration bulb from Amazon for $42.51 shipped.
Install took about 15 minutes. Make sure the bike has been off since the bulb prongs can be very hot.
The pictures don't do these bulbs as much justice as seeing it with your own eyes. The output better replicates natural sunlight as compared to the yellowish tint of the regular halogen bulb. This mod was for safety when riding at night.
i love that exhaust when i get a chance
really the only exhaust that i have seen that doesnt seem stand out so much and ive never been a fan of carbonfibre but with the exhaust i can my mind lol
In anticipation of the next stage of mods, the stock rear turn signals were replaced with these LED signals. $20 off of Ebay and the 3/4" corner brackets for $3.00
I didn't like how the wires were exposed and came up with this solution while eating lunch. I sandwiched the wires in between the current plate and an old plate as the backing. So fresh and so clean.
The next major set of mods will be coming in about 3-4 weeks. Stay tuned.
Thanks Jaymann250. The next few mods is going to be BIG. I am just waiting for 1 small part. I have 99% of the other stuff already and it's killing me that I can't do anything until the other part arrives.
It involves paint so there is no sense of painting now and then mixing another batch of paint when the small part arrives. I don't want to chance the colors not matching. Might as well wait to do it right instead of right now.
We should rally up all the 250s in the Houston area for a meet soon. Would you be interested?
To me, most protective tank pads destroy the colors or lines of the motorcycle visually.
I didn't want a black one to pull my eyes away from the "carbon" Honda wings. I also didn't care for a clear one either because it sticks up high like a zit.
Instead, I had a friend custom cut a 3-piece 3M clear bra for my fuel tank. He first applied it over the Honda wings but he didn't like it because the film didn't look flat enough. He painstakingly cut around the Honda wings for me.
He is great at what he does so if any of you around the Houston area are interested, PM me.
More to come soon. Stay safe and rubber side down!!
I got the rear seat cowl and passenger grab bar plugs from Steve (forum member SAC). His communication was almost daily and very professional.
Once I received the goods, I was not 100% happy about the fit and overall look. I wanted something cleaner. That was when I decided to pull out the big guns and get some help from my body shop friends.
I ordered some side fairings and trim pieces and told them about what I had in my crazy head. Since they were going to spray these pieces anyways, I had them spray the Zerogravity double bubble windshield as well. I will post pics of that install soon.
It really, really looks great. I particularly like the turn signals... even though I would have preferred them to be added to the original ones, for extra visiblity

To me, the stock rear turn signals stuck out so much once the Yoshi FE kit was installed. To each their own.
I considered painting the lower fairing orange as well but was afraid the entire bike woulb be too orange. I might consider putting a few stickers on the lower fairing like that of the CBR600RR and think the black background would be best.
Looks like its better to have those yoshi exhaust than two bro..
