BMW rider bought a Honda haha

I bought me a 2012 CBR250R the other day to daily since I spend more time wrenching than twisting on my '74 BMW r90/6. Bought the Honda with a bunch of orange vinyl on it. So first thing first it had to go....

Welcome, you are not the first. Mine was a R65 that I bought new in 1980.

Not the worst vinyl job but it did clean up nice. Any idea what that mounting just above the headlamp was for?

Thanks for the welcome. Yeah it's a gopro mount. I figured I might use it. idk. I like the cleaner look without the vinyl. Too old for boy racer, and classic is more my style. This honda is making a great commuter, though, so far. I did an hour and half ride on some back roads with plenty of power to get in trouble with.

Photo made the vinyl look good, but it was poorly done... coming up in places, bubbling, rips and tears, and janky edges everywhere.

I'd love to hear your impression of the new bike vs the old in terms of performance, handling, fun factor, etc.

Every bike is a good bike. The question is whether or not it's the best bike for what you want to do.

I have to say, from my 35 years of riding an airhead, that the only thing REALLY missing was the exhaust note.

The CBR has a better headlight and brakes. It is also gas n go.

Fun factor? Equal.

Nice old Airhead.

How did the wheels on the CBR get black? They should be silver on a 2012. Ditto the footpeg brackets and exhaust shield.
