Default 2012 Dropped off yesterday

Hi all, I'm a brand new rider - never even ridden a dirt bike. I'm taking my time. Luckily I live in a big, quiet neighborhood so I can practice at my own pace. I'm taking the permit test Thursday If I have time. I'm waiting til I move to take the Safety Course. Here are some pics:

well mate you have the right attitude, to practice
and learn your motorcycle, what you, and she, can do..

bikes are often as not dropped from cold, ie, not riding
or riding very slowly, or parking or moving them around..
recommend also practicing moving her around, forward and back,
turning each way, holding bars with feet on ground, and in the seat..
plus slow, very slow, starts and coming to rest, over and over..

everything, involves brain, nervous system, muscles and joints,
with which you will develop specific skills suites for riding..
esp at first,, be interested in -everything - about your motorcycle..
think of it as a sort of combination of playing piano, bareback riding,
lovemaking and flying like superman...
ie, skills using bodily coordination, control using strength and technique,
balance, care and consideration, plus letting go when appropriate..
[well, make up your own list of analogies]

this is a fantastic newly designed motorcycle
designed and made by one of the best makers
of motorcycles; honda.. [biassed from 4 hondas]

its plenty big enough [esp for a novice] to give you all
the experiences of real motorcycling, or get you into trouble..
with your good attitude, development of riding skills
and this excellent motorcycle, the main danger
is traffic, other vehicles..

start out with an attitude of not, trusting, any of them...
even very nice people can be incompetent in cars..
they can make poor decisions in traffic and when
stopping or taking off from the kerb and so on..
esp intersections, where they may not even see you,
or their brain may not pass on the message that
you are there [the way it would if you were a mack truck]
so at first, avoid congested traffic and shopping areas etc
where cars are coming and going all over the place...

otherwise, know that you also have many options for
escape, riding thru small spaces, light weight & good brakes,
which together with careful even fanatical initial training
and practice at riding skills, you may have years of great
motorcycling experiences on this fine honda motorcycle..
