Default New Tri-color owner - Texas

Hey all. Long time reader of forums, but recently got a new Tri-color CBR250r. Alongside of introducing myself, I wanted to say thanks to many of the members here, for all the posts and discussions here helped me immensely in deciding what motorbike to purchase. Lots of good info and knowledge here and it's been very helpful.

I'm glad I decided on the CBR. Bike is so fun to ride for so many situations.
I have one question though, I have all my riding gear but I am looking to get a leather riding jacket to replace my Tourmaster textile one. Can anyone share some insight on how they like leather riding jackets in the Texas heat and the price they paid for one?

Thanks all, glad to be here.

Welcome.

I wear a hi viz jacket, so don't know anything about wearing leather in a hot climate. Ill stick with my mesh for the summer time.

Welcome. I don't know about leather as I'm rockin hi-viz textile. But I can tell you that textile mesh in the hot Texas summer is not too bad.

Leather offers the best protection, but for the climate I live in (bloody raining all the time) textile makes the most sense.

Thanks. I did all my practice riding on a ninja 250 with the textile jacket and even in the mid afternoon summer inferno, once i got moving it wasn't to bad. I like the cold weather liners for the textile one too, so I'm thinking the urgency to get a leather is not that much.

Leather will be very hot in heat in our climate bud, textile or mesh is your best bet. Welcome to the forum, congrats on the purchase. Mattcbr250 and I are out and about pretty often and are planning a HTX250 group ride sometime around christmas. If you would like to join us just let me know.

Whats up, I'm from Houston, TX. And I can tell you, not sure your location, but down here with the Humidity, I hate to admit, sometimes I ride with just a t-shirt during the warmer months. I know, I know, safety first! But I'd stick with the textile. Unless it's about looks, then go for it, but if it's function and comfort, stick with mesh and textile with removable liners.
