Alot of ppl are under the misconception that wider tyre gives more edge grip,

It works the opposite as the rubber doesnt get enough temp to work, and on a light low powered bike this is important.
it also looses its curve in the middle that causes it to not hold a line as well.

Post a pic of a used 150 tyre taken directly from behind the tyre at axle height.
then look at how the rubber falls away on the edges.

+1 , look at a moto3 tyre, its tiny. A 115/70 17 iirc.

Here are some pictures of the clearance on the 150. For reference, it's about 1/2" (12mm) on the brake rotor side and 3/8" (10mm) on the chain side.

I agree that the 150 doesn't have any cornering advantage over the 140. The reason I went with it was because of the Michelin PR2 rep and the fact that the tire is only 5mm wider than the 140 - that's 1/10" of an inch on each side.
