Default Widest rear tire for 2012 cbr250r (stock wheel)

What is the widest rear tire that will fit on a 2012 250r stock wheel?

Thanks

I'm running the Michelin Pilot Road 2 150/70-17 with no issues other than the handling is so good I push too hard sometimes. many others are as well.

Hi Luke, interesting to hear this, as the choice otherwise is minimal.
How much clearance with the swing-arm is there? Plenty? Michelins are often up to 1cm wider than the specification on the tyre anyway. Have you covered many miles on it?
I'm also a big fan of pilot road2, I've had PR2 and PR3 on my other bikes, and actually prefer the PR2 as there is less "creep". The compounds are identical.

There's plenty of clearance - but I'll try to shoot a couple of pics tonight to give you a better view. I went PR2 front and rear, and the difference between them and the IRCs was amazing (disclaimer: comparing well-worn IRC RoadWinners against the new PR2s).

I've put several thousand on the PR2s, and the more miles the more i like them..

A wider tyre will only slow you down, make the rubber work less effectivley and give you a chicken strip thats just wasting rubber.

You can get a Pirelli Diablo Rosso II or choices from Bridgestone that are in the correct size for a 4.0" rim.

Unless you are sponsored by Michelin or a company that does not make 250 tyres I dont see the point?

120/60 or /70 front and 150/60 or /70 rear
sometimes 160/60 can fit depend on the tire
