Default Bazzaz Z-Fi Tuner and Arrow Exhaust Installed

Aside from looking about a million times better than the factory exhaust, I am quite pleased with the boost in performance from both the slip-on exhaust and especially the Bazzaz tuner.

I drove the bike for a few days with just the Arrow exhaust on it and it definitely helped out in the mid-range performance of the bike, even without the tune. I tried it with the baffle in and with it out. With the baffle out it is LOUD. It sounds like a dirt bike with the muffle cut off, definitely not a fan and the bike felt like it lost torque versus with the baffle in. With the baffle in the bike is about 30% louder than stock and you get a big boost in the mid-range performance of the bike (plus is sounds amazing - for real, it really does sound good not just loud). The tone is nice and deep and burbly and not too loud, I love it.

I installed the Bazzaz tuner this morning and took it out for a spin. It makes the bike feel like a completely different machine. All the low-end bogging and surging is smoothed out. Instead of that mid-upper dead range you have with the stock tune you now get a nice big surge of torque. If you're cruising at 50 in 6th gear and you give the throttle a twist it will actually accelerate instead of just bog and complain. Really the best way to describe the performance is "smooth". I have yet to see what it's going to do to my mpg but right now I say it's worth it.

Also, an important note with the Arrow exhaust, there are no instructions with it but it's pretty simple to install. If anyone has questions about the process just let me know, I'd be glad to help.

nice work man, sounds like it makes quite a difference! I have a yoshi slip on and was thinking about getting the bazzaz unit and by the sounds of it it does a pretty good job!

How much did you pay for the bazzaz if you don't mind me asking and was it difficult to install

Cheers

Lewi

I got it from Biohazard Cycles, one of our forum sponsors:

BAZZAZ BPD ZFI Z-FI FUEL MAPPING KIT Z-Fi CBR250R 11 Z-Fi Fuel Control Unit. F343

Here's the thing about the install, it is intimidating but it isn't actually hard. You have to pull off the fairings on both sides of the bike and you have to unbolt the fuel tank and lift it up (but leave all the fuel lines connected) in order to get to the plugs for the fuel injector and the 12v rail. It took a couple hours to do but when you realize they're just pieces of plastic and get over the initial terror of stripping the body work off your bike it's easy to do.

Be careful when lifting the gas tank! The quick connect fitting on the fuel pump snaps off pretty easily.Be sure the tank is secured well before continuing.New fuel pump cost as much as a new tank.Don't ask how I know this.

Default Arrow Exhaust Baffle

The baffle on this model of ARROW exhaust slips in/out from the rear of the of the canister, being held in by a snap ring/circlip.

Looks good, if you got a dynojet PCV you would feel even more power since it advances ignition timing.

Cool, I have that same exhaust siting in a box in my house (although I got the full system), Im hoping to put it on this weekend. It looks really good.

Let us know how the gas mileage works out because I have been thinking about getting a Bazzaz as well.
