Checking MR again, you are correct as the CBR piston is 108, and the CB is 54. The CB would not yield as high a compression as the CBR, but should also fit.

Big price difference. Wonder if CB piston is just cast.

And clearly both cost more than just decking the head, especially when you have the skill and tools! Best wishes.

Is there a weight difference between the stock piston and the 1000RR piston? If so, would it throw off the balancer. That's my big question for this mod, whether it be a simple swap or a bigger piston.

Everyone has the right to be offended but just because you're offended doesn't mean you're right!

I would think that there would be a difference, with the CBR1000R piston forged, while the CBR250R is probable cast and not forged. The lighter, but stronger CBR1000R, would create an imbalance to some degree, but not destructively imbalanced.

I have put together alot of big bore kits in bikes with balance shafts and never had an issue. But like i said im not changing the piston.

Either way I'm still interested in the outcome.

Got all the parts I need today. Got the new rings on and piston and cylinder installed. Now I just need time to do the head work.
