Smile Can one power commander be used on others

Hey
I was thinking of buying the power commander for my CBR250R...
But Ill probably be buying a new bike within a year...

Can this power commander be used on any other bike by just changing its maps (Or firmware) ???

Also how much performance gain can I expect from it, if m running on stock exhaust ??? (And K&N air filter)

Also Ill be needing only the PC, right ???
Or do I need to buy auto tune or some other device ???

You can use them on different bikes. THe DFC for the CBR i'm not sure about. I had a DFC and was happy with it but you cannot adjust iginition timing. Jetttuning.com has came out with a dynojet PCv that allows ignition timing change which makes the torque curve much much stronger. Check it out.

Auto tune is a music industry joke. It's looking more and more like the Jett tuning PCV is the way to go.

In general it won't work on a different model bike. In particular, the PC's that fit a CBR250R would not work on any multi cylinder bike, even if from Honda.

A PCV for a CBR250R has but a single pair of wires and connectors for the Injector fuel pulse modification. A multi cylinder bike typically requires an injector per cylinder or more, and therefore the PCV CBR250R does not have the ability to attach to each injector, since it provides connection to but a single injector.

It could work on a single cylinder with a new map, and possibly a firmware update, (batch injectors, etc).

Gain 1 - 2 HP, but more important, improved throttle response. This is true for basically all the aftermarket fuel controllers.
The Jettuning PCV (only power commander option I think) allows ignition advance modification, but does not ship with any ignition advance maps loaded or included, only an appropriate fuel map. Therefore to take advantage of the ignition option would require a trip to an experienced dyno tuneup shop, and the cost thereof.

Good luck.

if by ECU, you are referring to the factory (Honda) ECU, not that I am aware of.

If by ECU, you are referring to the aftermarket add-on fuel controllers, the answer is yes. Nearly all will do what you want. They will arrive at your address pre programmed with a fuel map that is the best fit among what they have to your actual configuration. You install it per included instructions, and ride away basically.

This is true also for the Jettuning PCV fuel controller which is unique in also offering the ability to alter the ignition advance curve. This PCV is "Plug and Play" also as it would arrive with a suitable fuel map pre programmed form Jettuning for the fuel function, but would not include an ignition advance map pre programmed on the unit. (This is as of three days ago according to John of Jettuning.) It will function correctly and be an improvement as delivered, but will not yield the max it can deliver without developing a custom ignition map.

Summary:new units are available from $200+ to $400 that will do exactly what you seek. Bazaar,Jettuning, DFC, Juice Box, etc will be an improvement. Used prices, unsure, but clearly less.

Hope this helps.

One important question

Will the bike be able to go o 12k rpm even on he 6th gear ???
Cause the stock ECU dosent allow it to go above 10.5k rpm it seems...

Also can I make it go beyond 12k rpm on lower gears ???
