Hi everyone I purchased a pair of clutch and brake levers from eBay from China. They stated that they were for my 2013 honda cbr250r abs. When I got them they look really nice. I attempted to put them on. Started with the clutch side. The slot screw that screws in fits in the new hole of the lever but when I line up the new lever with the hole where it's supposed to go into the screw won't thread it barely. Then it becomes really tight and makes the lever stick which is no good. If anyone has any tips that would be great. Thanks
only buy none important parts from china and not important ones , they never line up quite right. had the same problem with my rear seat cowl, took a heavy hand to get it to fit and clip in
i personally wouldn't buy knock-off chinese stuff for something as critical as clutch and brake levers. maybe fairing plastics. i paid a pretty penny for mine (around $120) from ASV. Fit perfectly.
Had no issues with a Chinese set on my 250, now I have the 600 had no issues at all. There is some (lack of) quality control however you sometimes snag a set that are perfect.
Never had a problem with mine. Just keep turning the screw with it in the hole while moving the levers. It will go in straight eventually. I thought I was going to have the same problem, but I eventually got it to thread and it didn't bind. It just took a little finagling. If it's sticking, the bolt is likely crossthreaded and I would start again.
Rather than try to tell you what you should spend your money on I will try and help you instead...
They sound possibly like a budget lever that a lot of us have put on our CBR300's. The front brake lever fits perfectly but the clutch lever needs to have the square edge of the tang that slots into the lever holder on the bike filed down so its rounded. This allows the tang to fit right back into the lever holder so the holes line up. Its not a big job and takes 10min. Hope this makes sense.
Suggest you go to 300 site and do a search for adjustable lever. More info and pics on there of this small modification.
yup, same it , I bought two prs, my wife`s fit perfect but on mine I had to file the clutch side down a little to get bolt in, then make sure you add a little lube or grease to area.
regarding junk Chinese parts..I paid $29.90 shipped per pair, I do not mind a little filing to get a perfect fit..took me all of 5 mins if that
Thank you very much guys for the great advice helped a lot and there on now. Took it for a spin and they work great. They both have a little wiggle on them if u move it from up down a tad bit but I looked it up an seems to be normal from what others said also.
