Oil Leak Help

I have an oil leak problem I need some advise on.
Got a leak coming from the bottom of the left side engine case. I replaced the gasket and no luck. I discovered a small nick in the engine block on the bottom. My guess is the gasket is not supple enough to fill that void. I am not thrilled about the thought but, is it safe to apply a small RTV bead before installing another gasket? My hope is it will be okay and that the RTV will be enough to fill the void the gasket can't.

I'd use a very small amount of Hondabond 4 (P/N 08717-1194) to fill just the void. Hondabond 4 is a semi-drying liquid gasket. This is the same product used to re-seal engine crankcase halves. Just don't apply too much, as an excessive amount can squeeze out into the inside of the case, which could break free and possibly end up in an oil passage and block oil flow. RTV might work, but I think the Hondabond 4 would be a better choice in terms of holding up to constant contact with engine oil.
