start problem solved
Here's one for reference, should anyone run into the same problem: I came back to my bike after 3 weeks vacation, turned it on, and hit the starter. Cranked fine, but wouldn't start. tried 3 - 4 times with same result. Then charged the battery fully (just to be safe) and tried again. Nothing. I did notice that the fuel pump was not kicking in on the normal start procedure. Did some research on the web, and saw that it could be that the fuel line had lost pressure. So, out to the bike again, this time as I hit the starter, I cranked the throttle full on -- and heard the fuel pump kick in. Kept going, and suddenly heard the sputter and saw the smoke! After a couple of tries again, total success, and the bike is now out in the carport warming up.
Cheers
