Default Checking oil on rear stand only

Since the bike is obviously slanted forward, I wondered if this invalidated the reading in the sight glass?

I was just checking mine with the balance method (on two wheels) and if I had the bike centered, it looks like the oil might be over full from the 600 mile service.

I would like to use my rear stand to be hands-free with the bike vertical to check the oil.

What do you think?

I've checked mine on the rear wheel stand too... it shows the oil level at a slight angle at the lower level marks on the sight glass. Checking it using the balance method, the oil is just above the upper level. When I change the oil & filter, I refill the crankcase according to the specified volume, not to the sight glass lines. If your oil level is a little above the upper mark, I wouldn't assume that it was over filled by the dealership... sounds like they put in the proper amount according to the volume specified by Honda.

Someone here once posted that they sat on their 250 to keep it level, and then checked the oil level with a inspection mirror. Recently tried it myself and it works pretty slick. My bike reads a bit low when on a rear stand.
