Nanny state mentality or not?

As I'm currently arguing the toss about the long term survival of the 250cc outside of Asia I thought about license restrictions, the kind of laws that state you can only ride a 250cc bike if you are under 19 and I wanted to get a view from people in the States.

I know freedom to choose is a big thing over there and no one likes the Government being too heavy handed on issues like this but do you think a system that restricts younger inexperienced riders to no more than 300cc would be a good thing or not?

Replaced mine with an aftermarket one. It good condition. Heat shield has a coupe scratches on it fom boots and stuff. Old recommend pinging the shield with BBQ paint. I've done it before and it looks soooooo much better.

After not riding for about 40 years, I bought a 2012 CBR250 in January. Yeah, it was cold at first but I'm looking forward to some good rides this summer. Love the bike (except for the 10% generous speedometer). More about that in another post.:(

Just want to say it is official.
i am no longer a cbr250ra rider/owner.

yes i am going to say the verbodden words. Kawasaki Ninja

dropped off my trusty Honda today and rode off on a shiny new 2013 Ninja 650abs. And of course it had to be raining.

Top case on the 250

Just installed a new top case. I don't normally like these, but I needed one to carry work stuff. Since the rear seats are so cheap, I just mounted the case to it. Not too bad I guess.

Best Arm Length for iPhone RAM Mount

I am looking to mount my iPhone 5 with one of RAM's fork stem bases and I have 3 choices for the ARM length that connects the ball to the cradle. I am primarily looking to mount this so I can use a Navigation app to get a visual and ensure I am making the right turns at intersections (I will also be pairing this with a Sena Bluetooth headset).

The mount length choices I are:

3 Inches
4.31 Inches
6.62 Inches

If anybody has done this already with an iPhone what length ARM are you using?

Damaged rear tire options

Cripes.

Took the day off to ride, and found a flat rear tire from a road hazard I must have picked up on Sunday's ride.

No IRC replacements in stock nearby. I'm wondering if "Fix a Flat" or a plug could hold me over for a few weeks of slow riding around town?

Also, should I go for the stock replacement, or something else?

Bike only has 40 miles on it, just riding around working on the MSF basics.

Hate to shell out $300+ if I can put it off for a few weeks...

Note: one of the lower ears had snapped off in shipping but I repaired it using two part epoxy. Good solid repair and I guarantee it or money back. Proper break-in procedure

Everyone knows you have to break in your bike properly to get a lifetime of enjoyment out of her. Kind of like your honeymoon. Since all bikes are female that would entail establishing your male dominance during the honeymoon period. Some would advocate being gentle but I disagree. Attachment 5593

My local Honda dealer doesn't stock motorcycle parts and the guy told me they didn't want to order them. No joke. So, where does everyone get their parts? Is there a good reputable website/dealer that will send the filter and necessary gasket(s) and washer(s)? I can pick the oil up at local autozone.
