Need suggestions, I have been thinking about adjusting the rear shock on my bike. I weigh approx 255- 260 and was wondering if I should leave the rear shock at the factory setting. I don't have any experience in motorcycle suspension set up. Please help.
Around 30-33mm sag (30% of the suspension travel)
This is the difference between the measurement of the suspension fully unloaded (rear wheel off the ground) to the measurement of the rider sitting on the bike in the natural riding position.
Guides to setting it will be on youtube.
You'll need a friend and a tape measure to help.
Distance is measured from the rear axle vertically up to a point on the bodywork.
I am 220lbs and run it on the softest setting due to a back issue. I'm happy with it. The factory setting transferred too much shock to my back.
