An unusually warm day for December in Chicago allowed me to take a short ride to our local Dainese store. They were hosting a promotional event and I had the chance to meet AMA Super Sport racer Blake Young. I could have got an autographed poster, but I had no means of getting it home intact. Also listened to a pretty compelling presentation about riding gear. Went there to chat with some friends and, mainly, to enter a raffle to win a free track day. No luck with the raffle (sigh), but had a great time talking bikes, riding, and gear with like-minded individuals. A ride, any ride, at this time of year here is something to savor. And I did.
yup, its like 58 back home, 65 here in southern il
I repainted both rims from silver to gloss black, lowered the front shocks to about 1/2 inch, installed a koso side mirrors.... next week, red rim stripes and carbon fiber vinyl for under cowl and exhaust heat shield. =)
Drained my oil into a bunch of cups at a gas station. Found out I put waaaay too much in and it started to go into the air box/filter. Ended knocking two full 12oz cups of hot oil everywhere. But, no more lack of power, new oil, and picking up the K&N Air filter tomorrow afternoon in Santa Barbara.
