I found its the posers that will stick their nose up at the 250. Had a guy on a Vrod park across the parking lot at the coffee shop because he doesn't park beside sport bikes lol.
I get compliments on the bike quite often, the best on was the other day. He liked the bike and praised me for riding in the cold... But then he began to talk about the aliens slowly taking over the city and causeing havoc while the government is trying to hide it... But hey he like my bike! Lol

People always stare and look at my bike, get many many compliments on it also, but there aren't many custom painted 250's in Philippines. I know there isn't another in the world painted like mine so mine is UNIQUE!!! 1 OF A KIND

Went to a bike show this summer... I was talking to a couple of exhibitors who did vintage road racing in a pretty serious way, well seasoned dudes for sure.
One raced a Ducati 250, the other a Benneli 250. we talked about bikes and racing for quite some time and when they asked what I was riding, I told them a CBR 250R. Both had heard about 'em, but neither had actually seen one.
Long story short, within less than a minute, they both left their bikes in the show area because they wanted to walk over to the dusty visitors bike parking area to check out and ask questions about MY CBR! Both gave it a hearty thumbs up. These guys got it right away. We exchanged phone numbers and they told me that if I didn't get that thing down to the track, they were gonna come looking for me .
theres an australian way of expressing superlatives
like, say, a drop dead gorgeous woman walks bye,
bloke to his mate; "check out that ugly woman!'
its sort of like not, adding strings of adjectives
to 'beautiful'.. so you say the oposite...
context, dictates the meaning..
[obviousy,, shes not, ugly]
i reckon some of aufitts descriptions
may be this sort of aussie praise...
black beauty has had her share of compliments
like others above.. including from old riders
and women you wouldnt expect to be interested..
then again, i 'recognised' her, at first sight...

Have you heard any more from insurance? Are you able to replace it? I'm appalled in the criminal behavior of others!
Nothing yet. Looks like it's never gonna turn up, so they're just making a value determination.
Master and Commander enacted her executive orders, so I need to buy my own cage beater within a certain budget, and fit a motorcycle from whatever's left from the beater. It's either an early 2000's Civic or Miata at this point. With ~ $6k left for a bike plus its op costs, this leaves me with little wiggle room. Ninjette is in consideration, but she'll know I'll daily drive it, so she's discouraging it. I've always wanted a Daynota, but even a used one would run me a +$1k insurance premium. Surprisingly, I've been looking and pricing some YZF-R6's and they are within my range. Insurance was also half of the Daynota as well, which was really shocking. Plus for her is that it's a race bike so she knows (err, thinks) that I won't daily drive it. She's got a point. With what happened to the Weeb, I'm leary of parking my bike anywhere but either the garage or inside the condo.

mate this wont help materially with your sad loss, but still;
my CB750/4 K6 sohc with black 4into1's, girlings, tires, horn,
light, etc, plus dark to lighter green paint job on light shell,
tank and side panels, with 'sparkle' [subdued] plus
flattened cannabis leaf [4 - 5" dia] on tank near fuel cap
under coats of clear,, all alloy hand buffed with goddards glo, etc,
was routinely drooled over by a young mate of my brothers
who always wanted to buy it from me..
anyway, going overseas for a couple of years, after another offer
to buy it, i sold it to him, on the strict proviso that i was to have
first offer if he wanted to sell it.. he went away overjoyed
promising to look after her etc etc..
so i found out that he'd been on heroin in some motel somewhere
when the owner offered to take the honda in payment for his bills
plus a little cash,, which in his heroin ####ed brain sounded
good enough.. he was so, sorry, later, when i came home..
sort of commiserations i suppose..
good luck with it all, anyway..

Right onn. We all know why we like the ceeb and the admirers know why they like the ceeb. but as aufitt says, the haters are gonna hate...even when they would change their minds just by sitting on one
