ZG Double Bubble Windscreen Pics
Here is my small write up / review of this product.
Price & Shipping:
$89.95 usd Currently 10% off list price from Revzilla. Free shipping and no tax for anyone outside of PA " I believe". Product was shipped in a very large box with large amounts of bubble wrap and paper to protect the screen. Screen also shipped with the directions seen in pic 4 . They are decent directions but are printed very small. I found the DIY screen post on these forums more useful while installing.
Quality vs OEM:
The most noticeable difference of this screen is the edge finishing which can be seen in pic # 1-3 . That I think is due to the manufacturing process. OEM has a very defined larger edge due to the injection molding they use. ZG uses a pressing method on acrylic sheets, so they have to polish these edges in final stages. This brings me to my next point flexibility. Due to the different materials that are used the OEM screen seems to have around 20-30% more flexibility. As you can see the mounting is spot on as OEM. Everything is almost exact, except for one factor. The Holes that are used for the bracket for the dash display do not have the locator tabs so you will have to turn the brackets to the correct angle to get everything to mount up. Dont let this sway you though, mine were not perfect when installing so I just used a small Allen wrench to turn them a little to get the screw in. Everything else seems to lineup with the bikes plastics 100%. Construction seems definitely solid overall.
Wind Deflection:
I noticed a large decrease of wind turbulence with this screen. It seems like the air is being deflected alot higher than previous. I cant come up with exact measurement as I do not own a wind tunnel, but since I am 6'-4" this is a godsend for me personally.
" I will edit and complete the write up soon. Thought I would at least get the pics up so people can see it installed."
