First I want to say I love my 250 it serves it's purpose. I use it for a commuter to go to work, although I've only had the bike for 6 months now I can't help but want something bigger. I've been looking at a cruiser the Suzuki m109 does anyone own one or thought about Upgrading to this bike any thoughts or suggestions, pro or cons would help me make my decision on buying this bike or keeping my 250
I'll also confess that while at the dealers I was really loving the looks of the Shadow Phantom. Sorry I can't give any input on the Suzuki, or cruisers in general for that matter but they do intrigue me as well.
I really agree with what HMenke says, notably points 1 and 2 - can always add luggage later I think but yeah for longer trips more upright and a bigger screen would be nice.
Funny though regarding feet forward - some people just love it and swear by the comfort and others hate it - guess you really have to try it out and judge for yourself.
Then, as much as I dream about something else, every time I hop on my 250 I can't stop thinking about what an awesome and fun little bike it is. So light and nibble, zippin through traffic - no cruisers ever going to turn or maneuver like this bike does ...
I could see myself checking them out in like 20 years when I'm in my fifties... but I think I'd rather have a Goldwing... and now I feel weird for thinking about that. Thanks.

The Shadow Spirit is also shaft drive. Any strong opinions on that? Less efficient use of the power or so I hear but less maintenance and smoother (I guess).
Don't like 'em. Rode one for 4 years. Heavy, bulky, and boring. They lack nimbleness, especially in tight situations. For myself I did not find the cruiser more comfortable. However, a large rider population love them. They have a lower seat height and either have the feet controls in a neutral or forward position which appeals to some riders. Naturally they are great at "cruising". If you buy one you will have to join the "assless chaps" society lol

Ha ha, I think I'll pass
Yep, to me shaft drive is a selling point. And, as Live to Ride points out, if the ergos work, (I personally have no idea for myself), they are good at just "cruising". See, it really is a 50's+ thing Boring is nice!

Btw, 50 doesn't have to be boring. (Some bikes are though j/k)
