I think its around 100 bucks for 15k miles per year kind of numbers.
I do get 38 to 40 on long freeway runs staying on the slow lane at posted freeway limit numbers.
If I had to do it again, I probably would get the 12 Fit. Seems like a more fun ride.
They are vey nice little cars that handle great. Their gas mileage just suffers a bit on the highway because it is under geared, but don't have to downshift at highway speed. Of course, get the manual!

Ford Fiesta is the car to buy right now. The fit is more versatile but costs more and gets blown around on the highway some. The Ford has the better driving dynamics and is even better on gas.

Just read an article saying the Ford's quality has gone from close to the top from a few years ago to near dead last, due to problems with new models (Fiesta included). When Honda quality slips a bit their still at the top.

Plus the Fit wins best car in its category every year, beating the Fiesta. The Fiesta is however a little better on gas, but not as fast as the fit.

Just drove my brother's new Spark. Very nice also. And one of the cheapest cars in the USA.

My 2000 Saab 9-3 (2.0L turbo, 5 speed manual) gets 32 mpg highway, 27 mpg city, and that's with 75,000 on the odometer now. Bought it a year ago from the original owner for $5300. I'm not a big fan of car payments (or motorcycle payments either). It's a very nice car, leather heated seats & all the other euro car goodies... and when the turbo boost comes up... it flies.

As far as motoring on two wheels goes, I don't care too much about fuel economy. I ride motorcycles for the pure pleasure of it... for me, it's all about the ride.

Well for me... big motorcycles cost big $$$. I wanted a new bike but resources are tight. I have had big powerful motorcycles before... I just wanted something I could have fun with out on the racetrack without breaking the bank.

Well... its my 50th birthday tomorrow... First time in life I'm pissed off by a number...
Happy Birthday! With 50 you have still a lot of time to ride.

i used to have one big motorcycle and a car. now i have a scooter for around town and the cbr for fun and commuting.
i donīt go up displacement as i see no need for that. as others said: go from the scooter onto the cbr and fun is on:-). a heavier bike would be less comfortable in all the traffic around here too. i like the low fuel cost, but it was never part of my calculation. the big bike acessories like the abs that come to the 250īs now and the good looks made my decision towards a 250.
