Hey, im looking to get a new CBR250r really soon. Getting My license this next weekend through the MSF course, have all my gear already.. Went to the dealership and they preapproved, made it easy because i already have a civic through them. I was just wondering what people paid OTD for their bikes.
I live in North Florida and they are all selling them for 4,099.99 before taxes. I went to one, they quoted me $5500 (i told them no) and they wouldnt come down from that because they know the next person coming in would pay it easily.. Said they can't keep stock. Went to one about an hour away, they quoted me $5300 OTD and wouldnt come down passed that. Then i went an hour in the opposite direction in gainesville, Fl and they quoted me $5100 and no coming down. Is that decent? or still to low?
The other option was the New ninja 300 but i couldnt get them down passed $6k. This is going to be my commuter bike that i keep for 2 years then sale to a friend of the family and upgrade
Naw, there are a few reasons why i am getting the 250 or the 300. This will be my bike for just at 2 years then selling to a really good friend that wants a 250 as well. Im in a situation that a really good mpg commuter bike will be very helpful and ill admit, im ready to be on 2 wheels very soon. And if they are quoting me these prices on the 250, i know the 500 will be alot more. I dont want to spend any more than $5500 on a new bike. And how did you get 4300 OTD on a 3999 bike?
My opinion is the honda will be a nicer all around bike. I would just find a dealer who will work with you. Like I said I paid $4300 out the door. Granted that was brand new in 2011.
Any updates on this from anyone who has purchased in the last few months. I am getting $5200 OTD on the ABS version over the phone/internet without grinding through all the particulars of TTL, assembly, etc.
I am thinking about this, the Ninja 300 or maybe the CBR500R.
