The 1100 is cool, but too pricey. So is the 500R, it will perform right around the same as the Ninja 300 so..it's just cheaper to get the 300. And with 600 sales being on the down..why the hell would did they bother with a Repsol?

Did they release the msrp on the 1100? Has anyone published a performance test comparing the Ninja 300 to the 500r? Please let me know where you're getting your information so I can be in the know, too.

CBR500R = Hit and miss (CBR 250 2.0). Could've been better as many thought.
CBR600RR = What ugly garbage. Just kill it off.
As I thought I would be, I am disappointed in Honda. No new honda for me if this is what they have to offer this year.
Gold Wing = Don't care either.
CB1100 = Nice vintage bike but I'd never buy it.
CB500F = Good looking, A nice budget streetfighter.
CB500X = Perhaps when I get older
CBR500R = Nice shape, clean design. I wish our CBR looked like that
CBR600RR = Either you hate it or love it. There's nothing in between. It looks as if they took the front part of a Camaro and placed on the CBR600RR.
I love the looks of CB500F but I'm not sure it would be a good idea for Bogota's traffic. I mean, my CBR250R does the job just right for my day to day conmuting.

I seriously doubt the performance will be the same between the 500 and 300. They're both parallel twins. The compression ratio on the Honda is .1 higher. 300= 10.6:1, 500= 10.7:1. The 300 has the same size tires as our 250s. So don't go spreading rumors.

Cycle News stated that the 1100 will be $9999. And the 500r is 47hp with a top speed of 103..and the 300 already does 108..so you can pretty much determine how the bike is going to compare.

I'll wait for the msrp to be released by Honda, but point me to another 1100cc sport/standard (or however we should describe the CB1100) that is priced less than $10k because I haven't seen one. I'll wait for the side-by-side comparisons on the 500r v. the Ninja 300. 5 mph difference at the top end makes darn little difference to me. Acceleration might make a difference, along with fuel mileage, fit/finish, braking stats, handling and riding position. It wouldn't be too hard for the 500r to make it the better value, even at $1000 more in msrp.

Kawasaki is clearly the maker who wants to sell something other than Vanilla ice cream.
The new ZX6R and Ninja 300 are the ones to get. This is like Fail! by Honda.
I'm glad I got the CBR250, best bike Honda has come up with in 3 years.
sure the zx6r looks nice but at $13200 msrp (canadian) for the ABS version, out the door cost probably closer to 15k + insane insurance premium. no thanks. The hp and torque numbers look scary on it tho Could almost buy 2 of the new Honda 500's for the cost of 1 zx6r and the ergos on it probably kill my old neck and back for anything but short trips.
After reviewing the specs and comparing to other bikes already on the market I'm actually a bit disappointed with Honda. These bikes all seem like the Honda Civic of the motorcycle world, practical but boring. They're great if you want a commuter bike but if you compare them to something like the Aprilia Shiver the power, weight and styling on the other bike are simply much better.
