language/concepts used with the 500 seem to indicate targetting
of advanced novices, ['the next step up' etc] together with
older novices incl re-entry motorcyclists..
[no doubt, supported by market research etc]
advanced novices will trade in or sell giving them a start
and older motorcyclists would tend to be capable of
purchase of a motorcycle under small car price..
i like what this suggests about hondas goals and planning
for future motorcycling and hondas approach to it.
with a 250 good enough to be first and last bike,
'the next step up' being a virtual melding of two cbr250r's,
which despite the extra weight [my cb450 195kg - 430lb, 45hp]
would still be fine for 'next step up' and mature motorcyclists
and could also be a first and last motorcycle..
it also answers the oft asked question as to highway
and higher speed work.. the old 450 took in its stride..
[look out im almost talking myself into one
