Default Foolish newbie thanks group for sharing wisdom... Storing bike for WI winter.

Fellow riders,
I just wanted to thank the collective voice of wisdom. Planning to park bike in shed once the snow starts coming. Seems my passion/addiction was getting in the way of common sense (again, and again...)

Good choice. If you want to maintain a connection to your baby CBR over the Winter, do some mechanical exploring: take off the fairing, trace the wiring, trace the coolant flow, and (if you have the money) do a fastener replacement project. I'm going to at least replace the bodywork bolts; they feel soft as chewing gum under my Allen wrenches. And if you don't replace them, at least snug them up to spec. All the bolts on my 2011's (less than 5K miles!) engine cases were just a smidge loose and I was getting some oil seepage. Not a leak, per se, but a film descending from the gaskets. The snugging cured that.
