Ari is an incredible rider (who has developed his cbr all race season) would hose the field including his mate, who hadnt raced for 4 yrs, on a rental bike.
Our little nugget is fun, but lets not kid ourselves,
Unless a track is constant change of direction the Ninja just pulls away.
i was just about to mention that. Zac who has never ridden a ninja 250r and hasn't raced in ages like you said gets a few laps on a rental ninja, one which probably didn't undergo the same internal engine modifications Ari had done on his cbr to increase the redline and change a lot more of the internals etc.
The mods on the ninja are probably less and considering how ari has raced, developed and ridden the cbr numerous amounts of times this season puts him largely ahead of Zac and the ninja they hired.
I too love my cbr but i could tell the cbr had the upper hand coming into the race and the video wouldn't be as exciting if the honda didn't win so they tried to work it in its favour

While the video was great I don't think the ceebee was designed with any whisper of the track in mind other than it not being a cruiser. Plus out of 4 races he came in first once. Not a big victory to me. That just tells me majority rules on the ninja 250.

Gotta say I'm slightly surprised as the response here. This forum seems a little strange compared to other motor forums on the internet. I posted a video to celebrate the good qualities of the your motorcycle and how in this video it came on top owning to the stand out qualities of your motorcycle especially how it comes to it's major competitor in the 250 market. The response has largely been to make excuses for why the other bike in the comparison lost and how the CBR is actually not better in any way.
Where is the pride in ownership on these forum? It's OK to be happy with the bike you ride, and to recognize that in some ways it's much better then other bikes on the market. I don't understand the self-defeatist sad sack response and the unwillingness to recognize your own bike's good qualities. It's almost like I posted this on a Ninja forum and a bunch of Ninja owners are getting defensive. The CBR won. Your bike won. They said in the video how the CBR was better then the Ninja in many ways on a race track. No one said your bike would win a drag race - but it did have qualities that allowed it to beat a field of 29 other Ninjas on a race track in a legit non-straight line race. Be happy. Celebrate the victory with each other.
I'm not sure if it's just a vocal minority or a general sentiment of the forum at large, but it is a very strange and somewhat sad response to me and I think you guys might be unwittingly putting off some people from contributing more to this forum.
Having owned both bikes, I know the Ninja is faster. Not better, faster. The Honda is a much better bike on the street, but around a circuit, if both bikes are stock, the Ninja will beat it. We're not being defeatist, just honest.

this is a forum, people will say what they like, if you don't like the responses you don't need to throw a hissy fit. Yes the cbr250r did come out on top in a test where the bikes were modified differently with riders of different experience racing 250's etc.
I could also find several other tests or videos that show the ninja come out on top, for example, Ari's other videos on the same channel...
I think you are the sad one here who only comes to post to boast and brag about the cbr250r and defend it as being the best in its class and describe its qualities and keep saying how honda is the best and the cbr250r is the best, get over it!

Personally I couldn't care less which bike is faster. I bought my CBR for the build quality, ergonomics and a riding position that is roomy enough for my 6' frame.
Having owned both bikes, I know which bike suits me best and that's all I care about. I don't need to hear good things about the bike to know it's the one I prefer.

I know how both of them go and handle on the track (my cbr is track only) and have done nothing but sing the praises of the cbr's agility (change of direction) yet stability(stiffer frame) ever since I got it.
I am proud to ride it, despite the 1-2 secs a lap we get hosed by if there is not enough change of direction.
But there is very good reason why the Ninjas cop a 20-22mm restrictor in its throat for proddie racing.
Don't be surprised. If anything, be glad that we appeciate (or ted, in my case) the bike and accept her for what she is without sporting rose-tinted glasses and singing kumbayas during 250 shootouts.

And are those rental Ninjas bonestock? Are they not race prepped?
rental Ninjas were race prepped but they didn't say how much they were race prepped but i would say they wouldn't have undergone the same amount of modifying that Ari's bike had
