What color paint best matches for repainting the heat shield?

I painted mine with a high heat flat black. Picked it up at the local Home Depot. Seemed to match the other flat black exactly and hasn't had any issues so far.

I used a flat black rustoleum then coated it with acryllic spray and it turned out very nicely.

I also used a flat black heat resistant, (think bar b que grills) from Ace Hardware - no complaints and seems to be holding up well.
