Got my license yesterday and took my cbr out for its maiden voyage , had the best time and i can see myself riding for many years to come, The 250 has plenty of grunt for me at the moment and i think it will for a while , but jeese how good is it out riding :P

glad you love it mate! it's awesome isn't it and when you start building upon your confidence and skill as time progresses it will become even more fun, but i remember my first ride, it was a great rush and i wanted to get straight back out after i came home

Welcome! It was myself less than 2 months ago that I took my first bike for its first ride, right off the shop. A bit stressful but it went perfectly fine and I loved every ride since then.
good on ya! How far north? I'll be there in march. mostly in Brisbane and Toowoomba but hope to get up to Noosa for a week at least. keep the rides low key for the first while so as to not get yourself into an uncomfortable situation without the proper reflexes to get out of it.
