Oh definitely. I'm a pretty sensible rider, and I don't push my bike to it's limits on the road. They are smaller in the summer than they are in the winter though. I get them down to around 1cm on the rear, in summer, with the standard IRC's, that's far enough for me.

I have about 3mm on either side while i ride on the road, When on the track, they disappear.

KFC uses more oil and grease on their products in one day, than Honda does on their production lines in a year.
