We had our bike show so I got to see all the releases. I focused mostly on the 500r lol. Very nice bike. I think it will live up to its hype, like the 250 did and continued to. The Ninja 300 is a sweet bike. Very smart looking and the emerald green and black color scheme.
I put a down payment on it to reserve one. They havent landed in Alberta yet and are selling well here so far. Bike won't be arriving until March sometime. Don't mind the weight as it is similar to the 600. Decided on the 500 as I think it will fit my all round riding style. I haven't rode the bike yet but will when it arrives. So far I like what I've read and seen at the bike show. Similar seat height as the 250 but the wheel base is a few inches longer which is noticeable at the instrument panel. narrow like the 250 with a sculpted tank that allows knee hugging for a streamlined ride. HP is anywhere from 50 to 53, depending on who you talk to. One of the Honda guys had the bike up to 187 kph and it was still gaining speed. Sounds like a nice mid weight bike with a sporty flare without the SS insanity. Lots of guys buying who feel the size of a 250 is too small. Guess I will know more in March.... That's the ETA so far
Sorry in the delayed reply. Didn't see this msg. I am considering '09 and up. Great new feature with the new 600rr's is the traction control. Nice knowing the rear wheel has some added control ). The bike feels awesome sitting on it. Nice and light and the forward position is comfortable. More importantly though is HOW it rides, therefore I need to take it out on some burns. I've been told I cld take one out for day rides so I can get a feel of how it feels on longer distances. I am looking forward to the bike show this Jan and hope to catch a glimpse of the new 500r along with other SS bikes. So, currently my weebee is sitting under his bike cozy trying to keep warm in my unheated garage. I still love him lol.
Haven't bought one yet. Been shopping a couple times. The GM of my local Powerhouse advised the time to buy is after January. By then the new bikes will have been introduced and some of them arriving on the floor. The new 1000rr arrived just the other day, Repsol edition. As well, I want to test ride the 600 before finally settling on it. We are in winter weather here so test rides are not being offered. I have been following the forum but, to be honest I have not much to add. Alot of new ppl and new riders. Few with experienced comments. I do look for what you have to offer as you are one of the level headed contributers. Guess I have become a browser lately lol. Good to hear from you. Will continue to watch for you on the forum and perhaps I will post a comment when the time is right. Cheers
