Now that the threads title is obsolete, there's only one question left: Eighteen months, or three years until US financial collapse? Unless Obama does something totally uncharacteristic, that's the only course we're headed on. Get back to me after that, and we'll talk about November 6. Believe what one may about ol' Mitty, which probably hinges upon what one has been fed by the media, but the fact is, Mitt knows the only way to create real wealth is through private sector jobs. The only thing Obama has proven he knows how to do is take from those who have earned it, and give to those who haven't. He makes certain the only jobs he keeps afloat with stimulus tax dollars are union/government jobs, because they are the official money laundering operations of the democratic party, funneling money straight back into the party. I realize there are a lot of voting sheeple, and I guess it's their right to allow themselves to be duped, but damnn, why does everybody else have to go down with the ship, too?
As much as the deficit is a bad thing and should be fixed, to which I fully agree, I have to say that the tax reductions that Reagan and Bush deployed did far worse. Bill Clinton may have enjoyed some quality time with one of the apprentices running around, but at least he fixed the deficit (partly) only to be undone by Bush. And to be honest, cutting taxes in a time of growth is a plain stupid thing to do, especially when you don't cut spending. Bush should've cut spending in those years, lowering GDP growth and generally slowing down the economy. Why inject insulin when the values are high already? And now we're having a hypo and then all of a sudden injecting insulin is a bad thing? Good game... good game.
Cutting spending in a time of recession is, in my opinion, a rather unwise thing to do. Just look at the fucking mess in Greece and Spain; we're (yes, we, Germany, Finland and my own country) choking them - forcing them in a spiral of lower GDP, lower tax incomes, which in turn make them implement higher taxes, which further damages GDP growth and so on. We can't afford to be soft with them, we don't want to create a moral hazard, but we're hitting them (too?) hard.
Of course Obama should cut spending at some point; but I doubt Romney would've been as effective as he says. The last 3 Republican presidents (Bush, Bush sr. and Reagan) don't prove a very good track record for that. Wars and Star Wars; all a fucking waste of money.

Its bad when people from other countries understand US politics better than some Americans. Its true, history has shown that you spend more money when times are bad.
Bush started the bail outs, and any president, republican or democrat, would have done the bail outs. You can't lose most of the american auto industry, unemployment would be a whole lot worse if we didn't bail them out. To a certain extent the government didn't have a choice but to complete the bail outs. Just like now, the government doesn't have a choice but to put money into the infrastructure. Most of our bridges and train tracks are decrepit and could serious harm if they are not repaired. Americans have a short term memory and seem to have forgotten about the Minneapolis bridge collapse in 2007 and it wont be the last if we don't fix them.

Anyone who thinks race and socioeconomic status had nothing to do with how people voted should look at this chart.
As someone who pays a significant amount of taxes and is subject to that increasing as of next year, I am appalled that the people who benefit from my efforts via welfare and other assorted "free" benefits vote to elect representatives. Taxing yourself to prosperity is like lifting a bucket you are standing in, to quote Churchill.
Let's how how the free government cheese pans out when business moves offshore or shuts down due to excessive regulation, taxes, cost to hire workers, and the dollar devalues under the pressure of enormous deficits. I'll move to Cayman, f'k it.
Skin color has nothing to do with it. People vote for what they think is important and I voted for Obama because I like the direction he is taking the country, his stance on the environment, and that he isn't about big business as usual. You can agree or disagree with my decision but that doesn't give you the right to act like a complete retard. Saying that this country votes because of skin color is racist and I would not expect it from a fellow Washingtonian.
If you would rather have Vladimir Putin than Im sure that Russia would be glad to take you in, your already pretty close.
Get your head out of the sand man, if you think race had no place in the elections. We had blacks at work hugging each other cause Obama won Nov. 6. They could not say one thing that warranted his hugh victory. What are you Mary Poppins that think race is no longer an issue in America. I have the balls to say the truth and all you and that other asshat call me a racist for speaking the truth. A big part of this country did not care for whatever Obama did last 4 years period and punched his ticket for further handouts and his witchhunt on success.
Sorry America, you just rewarded failure with further failure.
And for the record I voted Obama in 2008.
Calling me a racist for what many others think but dont have the guts to write. Chicken ******************** you and than other dude.
... I have the balls to say the truth and all you and that other asshat call me a racist for speaking the truth...
I've been called worse, and to my face, acura. Like water off a ducks back, pal.
As for speaking the truth, the only way you could possibly regain any respect from me is if you were to actually admit that your original comments came across as racial, and that you did not intend them to be construed as such. Consider this as the "door being cracked open" for giving you the benefit of the doubt.

And what is wrong with people being excited that their candidate won, skin color of the people is irrelevant, I was excited as well. People can vote for a candidate for any reason that they chose, but for you to say that black people are only voting for Obama because he is black is wrong. Sure some people may be voting for him for that reason, but you cant pigeon hole an entire race of people. I live in the bible belt and Im sure that a lot of religious people here voted for Romney just because he's a Republican, along with a lot of military people, but that doesn't mean every religious and military person voted for Romney and even if they did that's their choice. Hell, some white people probably voted for Romney just because he is white, I don't hear you complaining about that.
