I rode a chinook once, and jumped out when it got to altitude. It was a very short ride up, those things get up in a hurry, especially with only human cargo. Cargo lift gates are awesome for jumping out of.

Also, I have flown a few RC planes but I mainly race off road RC trucks.

The only helicopter ride I have had was in a commercial chinook-type craft. It was a shuttle flight from LAX to the Disneyland Hotel (I think) in 1966 (I was 10).
I was REALLY disappointed when we taxied both for takeoff and landing.
I wanted VTOL!

Thats the type of Helicopter I fly! Well the maker anyway can't tell completely if it's a 22 or a 44.

Things like a Chinook aren't really supposed to do max performance take offs unless they absolutely have to. Rolling take offs aleviate a lot of the stress from just yanking on the collective and going straight up

Robinson's are nice little helicopters. Proud to say that they are made right here in Southern California, in Torrance.

Always wanted to pilot a helicopter, but not sure if I'm coordinated enough. So, I've went for a Cessna 150, instead.
