The very definition of having a substance abuse problem is that it has negative consequences.

Some may excuse what you did as a learning experience or that it was a one-off mistake. You seem perfectly willing to put it down as such. I don't know any stories like yours from people who do not have a problem.

Glad I read into your statement wrong, was going to quote an old friend of mine who said "Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem". Good luck with the move and get a fresh start, take a deep breath and get a new focus. It may take awhile to get free of the stains this has caused but take our one step at a time like any journey, this I know from a current situation I'm in.

With safe regards from the mostly frozen north.

If this (99%...) were true, and I seriously doubt the accuracy of your figure, it might explain why the world as whole is in such a sorry state... I happily count myself in the minority.

are you telling me you don't drink coffee , smoke cigs or take prescription meds !?

good for you brother

my ride is my "thing"....
... think the world as a whole is in such a sorry state because we let it be .... don't think this will go on for much longer now the information travels so fast with technology .... and now that good things are right around the corner ... should be a great time to be around .........alive

there is another saying: the world is what you make of it , so feel blessed to be around in a part of the world that's not such a "sorry state" , in which i wake up fearing for my life or freedom ..... Amen !!

Big difference between drinking coffee, and drinking alcohol on the job. Big difference between smoking cigs and smoking pot on the job.

Yeah, I just had two espressos, an aspirin and a fish oil tablet. If my knee acts up at work I'll pop a naproxen halfway through my shift. I'm not inebriated, won't break down crying, cannot lose my job or be cited for DWI. Quite a different standard.

not to me (personal opinion) ... they all make you feel different than you would if you weren't on them

drink too much coffee and you can't sit at desk calmly...
but drink too much alcohol and you won't be able to drive a vehicle..

smoke too many cigs and you will be very mad if your not able to have one after awhile...
but smoke too much pot and you won't want to go to work at all

let's not be hypocrite here ... cigs kill more people then all these things combined (plus much more) ..... and they're just as legal , as coffee and booze (which also kills tons of innocent people)

....yet , there hasn't been 1 case of harm caused by THC , but in some states , that's still as illegal as heroin

no wonder people hate us ...
..we should stop worring what's in other people's cups

out of all these options i would rather have a pot-head working for me..
..at least all i have to worry about is making sure they show up on time

Or death if theyre around any heavy machinery or rotating equipment.

Guy came to work drunk two years ago, got his flannel shirt caught in a lathe. Ripped his arm off at the shoulder. He's bow on disability and my tax money is paying for his bills and meds. Win-win right?

lol... that's if they even remember that they have a job to show up for.

I wouldn't want a guy who had been smoking ganja, or drinking alcohol operating power tools, like circular saws, table saws, chain saws, or other machine tools... I've seen people do it, first hand, and it is scary.

What ever happened to common sense?
