got a speeding ticket a few days ago. Open freeway, no cars, cop was hiding in the treeline with a laser and radioing ahead.
Busted for under 80mph.. really?
Got one today for parking adjacent to a handicap spot.
Guess its time to go to that awful VA hospital and get myself a handicap tag ey?
He also tried to give me a ticket for having my headphone in. A bit ridiculous Id say.
I really need to move to a new state.
Can have ear protection while riding, no second amendment, multiple governors in jail
The thing about the handicap is that a many legitimate tag-holders need a lot of room to deploy a ramp and get a wheelchair out.
Here in Raleigh, State employees routine get the Handicap placards so they can park for free in metered spaces downton. As a result, a lot of people (including me) are getting increasingly cynical about them. It's depressing to watch a young women in jogging clothes park in the HC space and then jog away.

Sorry about the speeder and the headphone thing is obviously ridiculous or he would have given you a ticket for it, but Luke is right about the handicapped spots. The good part is that it doesn't go on your driving record.

Sweeping cobwebs from the edges of my mind
Had to get away to see what we could find
Hope the days that lie ahead
Bring us back to where they've led
Listen not to what's been said to you
Beside some "Handicapped" parking spaces is a space that is clearly NOT a parking space. Some people, properly using the handicapped space, need that extra space for deploying a ramp or unloading and loading a wheel chair or powered cart.
In my opinion, the OP deserved his ticket for blocking a handicapped space, whether or not he actually prevented a handicapped person from parking in the adjacent space.
I leave polite reminders on motorcycles I see in such spaces.
If I see a repeat offender (and yes, the word for lawbreaker is "offender"),
I telephone the police and provide the location and license and vehicle data.
Everybody who is walking around today is a "TAB".
Temporarily Able-Bodied.
Some of us will earn the right to use a handicapped parking spot.
Until YOU acquire that right, please do not interfere with those spots.
