recently visited austin, texas to attened my sister's wedding to a great guy from the U.K. at Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center..great visit, beautiful weather, awesome outdoor recreation..also went to a local eatery called The Salt Lick BBQ..all you can eat, total gluttony, and its in a dry county so you can bring your own beer!! If you visit austin, the salt lick is a must!! lots of beautiful hill country to ride if you have your moto which i did not, but there is plenty to do..

Still in doubt; if I'll go alone I'll probably go with my motorcycle either to the French Alps or I'm going to do a trip to Sweden/Norway with my CBR.
With friends I'll probably hit up on Eastern Europe or Russia. I hope I'll see something of the country though, last time in Poland I was more awestruck with the amount gorgeous girls (even while Krakau is a beautiful city - http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krakau).

Wow, that sounds really interesting. I'd love to visit those countries, but having a family, and only being able to afford one holiday a year for all of us, we stick to a 10 day package.
Im a college student, no money lol

I had planned to go riding down the Dalmatian coast of Croatia, but after thinking about summer heat and cranky drivers, I'm leaning more toward going back through Austria, Switzerland and Germany.

I'm thinking about heading towards Croatia as well; got any experience going there?

I've been to Zagreb several times, and have also driven in the car to Rijeka, Umag, Poreč, Mali Lošinj, Opatija, and Zadar. I've driven north along the coast highway from Montenegro past Dubrovnik and Split then north to Ljubljana. It's very scenic and the roads are pretty good. In the summer the highways near the seaside get very crowded though, and there can be several-hour waits for the ferry to some of the islands. The main highways have tolls, but they're not expensive. Near the coast a lot of people speak English, and throughout the country people speak English in restaurants and hotels, but not so much in shops and petrol stations. It can get really hot in the summer, up into the high 30s. I'm originally from Scotland, and don't really care for the heat.

5 bikes (so far) taking the "Circle Tour" of Lake Michigan this July. Asked my son if he wanted to ride with us. "yeah, I want to spend a week with 50 year olds talking about laxatives and colonoscopies. Fun". LOL. His loss.
