The F is $6K with abs in the USA.

I may have to consider giving the NX250 a ticket to the retirement farm.

Was very surprised to see the 600rr is no longer offered in black.

I gotta say, I love black bikes - but the red on the 500r just looks so right.

The CBR500 is looking sweet but 5999.99 USD non ABS really?

That would probably be 6500.00 to 6700.00 CAD without ABS and probably 6800.00 to 6900.00 with ABS plus dealer markup, thats going to be insane.

N300 out the door is 6000.00 CAD including markup/taxes. I guess I will probably stick with Kawa now or find a good used RVF400/VFR400 next season

I think you're right about price. Add in higher insurance and this bike isn't appealing. I figure I might as well get a nice, used Ninja 650 if I'm going to pay for the extra insurance. I was so hoping for a 400. If I want a brand new bike it will have to be the Ninja 300.

Just saw the pics,

Cannot for the life of me see why THAT thing is worth 386,521 threads.
Someone beat it with the ugly stick even worse than they did to our 250.

Have to disagree. The 250 got way more ugly stick treatment than did the 500. The silver piece immediately to the rear of the red fairing, the hideous single headlight, bad windscreen, hideous exhaust, more misplaced silver on the rear side panel...the 250 has ugly covered in spades. It's not quite the VFR1200, but it's close, and the more I look at it, the uglier it gets. Sorry all, I'm not here to denigrate your bike. I think it's a great riding bike, but the styling is recent Honda, which is in a word, disjointed.

The 500 is much cleaner, though I find the fairing cut-in just above the turn signal to be simply bizarre. I'm torn between the red and the w/r/b combo. If the white got rid of the decals and added the simple logo from the black model, I'd dig it more. That said, I understand that Honda will do the w/r/b combo, in line with its Interceptor heritage. I get it, and I even like it. Personally, I just tend towards solid paint jobs. If the red has some depth to it...winner. If it's flat, not so much.

Just another man's opinion. As usual, YMMV.

I may, if I can talk myself into giving up the old NX.

I'm interested, but I want to know more. How much HP does the non-europe model actually produce?

I'll raise a hand. I have 2 bikes that are serious "move-up" contenders for me, come spring. In this order:

1. CBR500r (black or red) $6000
2. Ninja 300 (black) $4800

I have to consider the N300 with that price & feature set.

I would have added an 09 CBR600rr, but I've pretty much decided against a supersport. So much more $ and I'll rarely ever see the top of gears 3-6. Where's the fun in that?
