i wonder if there is a restrictor kit in it like the ninja 650rl? but then again if that was the case would they release a restricted and unrestricted model or would this pass LAMS unrestrcted? i'm guessing it's passed with no restrictionon the power, and just that's it's on the upper limit like the cb400 etc. i guess we'll have to wait and see

Western Australia? Who cares what Western Australians think? WA is (a combination of) a crap city, a few dinky towns, and some holes in the ground. All east coast folk know that WA is irrelevant.

I'm not totally put off by their looks, the 500x is what would interest me though; larger tank, longer suspension travel and more upright seating position. It's interesting to me in that the 500x may actually have MORE HP than the 700x? How is that going to go over with consumers? The 500x does have an inch taller seat height than the others and the seat itself appears to be one piece vs two ... I might have to check this one out when it gets to the dealer, especially if a larger windscreen becomes available.
Still liking that phantom though. Massive windscreens available for those, hehe.
Problem is though, as a previous poster pointed out, it would probably cost upwards of 3 or 4k to replace my CBR250 which happens to do it's job exceedingly well.
will definately be looking at this bike in Spring 2013. Not up on the Honda Canada site yet. (as of Nov 12....ah just had a peek and they up but no price yet) but all 3 of the models are up. the CB500x, CB500F, CBR500R and CBR500RA
One thing, atleast from all the pix i have seen. The bike is not a "one eyed monster" both lights appear to be on instead of one for low beam and one for high beam. Always hated having one light on and the "hey your light is burned out" comments. Might be a minor complaint for some but always hated the one light config. glad to see it is not.
