Quite a story, truly worthy of the term epic*... it would really be something to embark on an adventure like that. My hat's off to Mr. Moto!!!

A short rant:
* a term that is so casually used today, to the point that its meaning has been cheapened by over use to describe activities/things which for the most part, are fairly common place or mundane. Pisses me off when I hear "Dude, that was so epic".

Time was that I might have felt the same. However, since language has become my profession I have become more accepting of, and interested in the way words and their use varies in different places and different eras.

Take the word "fanny, for instance. On both sides of the Atlantic it is a cute word used to refer to the nether region of the body. However the exact region is different. On one side it refers to a region common to all the human beings. On the other side it refers to a region common to only about half the human race.

How about the word "gay", which when I was young suggested light hearted happiness and freedom. It was also a girls name. We used to hate music classes at school, but did enjoy singing the line of one song very lustily.

"We'll all feel gay when Johnny comes marching home"

I am not sure that our cute classmate named Gay was so enamoured with the ditty.

Near the end of my school days the dirty homo's adopted the word "gay" to describe their deviant lifestyle, which nowadays is regarded as being within the range of normal and more accepted by many. Calling them a bunch of poofters has become unacceptable.

In undertaking his epic adventure, Mr. Moto is a deviant too. Some may dream, but few would undertake such a journey, especially with so little apparent planning.

For me there were some similarities with the way I traveled around Europe on a Honda 250. There was little planning involved, just a few objectives (such as to buy a Swiss Army knife in Geneva. Then when I had a quiet time at work I would change the oil, and do any other maintenance that was pending, and off I would go.
