I just got a cbr125r for my better half for Xmas & it looks great compared to the 250r , I think it's the twin headlights that do it.
The CBR125r does look pretty bad-ass. This goes back to my original post, why didn't they take a CBR125r frame and bump it up to 250cc? Full fairing, dual headlights, just all around more pleasant to look at.
Maybe so, but he also definately made the springs, modeled after his bottom, of course. That's what makes the CBR bouncy, trouncey, flauncey, pouncey, fun, fun, fun, fun FUN! Just sayin

Bring us back to where they've led

Just look at how much an aftermarket exhaust, aftermarket fairings, and some lowered handlebars help the look:
That is Honda's CBR250R race bike... Honda factory parts, not aftermarket, and not street legal (no lighting). It's a limited build, not mass produced (other than engine and chassis), and as far as I know it's only sold in Japan.
Personally, I think the overall styling of the street legal production bike looks good, especially for a bike that sells for a mere $4200 USD. Could Honda have done more in terms of styling? Sure, but at what price point?
I'm very happy with my bike... of course it is a '12 Tri-Color.

From what I understand the engine and rolling chassis is the same, although I wouldn't be surprised if it has a different fuel map... I'd be curious to know if it has the same final drive gearing, or if they went slightly lower for better acceleration.
That's gorgeous. Is it a standard engine, or has it been upgraded?
If you're referring to the picture I posted, I'm not sure on that bike specifically, it's just a stock photo I found.
However, if you like how that bike looks, and have some dough for fork out and the time to do it, you can get similar after-market fairings.
Only problem is you have to cut the holes for the headlight and the turn signals yourself. Also it comes in primered white. I can only imagine how much work it would be, but it would be pretty awesome when it's all said and done.

As you can see, the side cowls and fuel tank are the same as the production CBR250R. It does have a different rear cowl/seat assembly, upper cowl, lower cowl, exhaust, and rear set pegs. According to a few other bike websites, it does have a fuel map adjustable ECU, handlebar toggle for switching fuel maps, and a pit lane rev limiter switch. I haven't found any actual spec sheets for this version yet. So far it is only sold in Japan.

Whoa, that is sexy.
