It makes me sick that it's hard to distinguish,
An honest leader who preaches a cause,
That's not made and not based,
On the profit they'll receive from telling the world.
What line divides you from the seeders,
Who sow without growing believers,
You point and you judge,
Forgetting that their faith is molded by your lead.
speaking of the whole learn to ride a motorcycle part, the ridersafe course in Adelaide which you have to pass in order to get your motorcycle license can be done on an automatic scooter. I feel that it's cheating and that you shouldn't be able to pass your test on a scooter and then suddenly get on a motorcycle with no experience and take it straight to the road when you haven't learn how to ride one properly.
And considering the whole course is based around the gears, clutch control etc. i don't see why you can pass the test on a scooter
In NSW if you pass your test on an automatic, you cannot then go and ride something with a manual clutch unless you take the test again on a manual. This is primarily built around the whole "auto=scooter, manual=bike" thing, which is blurring now with bikes like the NC700.

yeah, that sounds like a good thing. But here in SA they're not real strict on anything when it comes to licensing, and even if you get your drivers license in an auto, you can still drive a manual transmission even with no experience but in other states you have to pass your test in a manual to be able to drive a manual. So with the bike thing, some people passed their test on i think it was a 100cc scooter and recieved the same class of license as the ones who passed in on the motorbikes.

The NC700 series: looks, engine, and price of a midsize streetbike; storage, transmission options, and fuel economy of a large scooter. Winner in my book. Honda's like "Hey, you guys know what would be so funny? We put out this kickass bike, then not offer it in the USA. They'll just be looking at it online going 'I wish we had that bike'. It'll be hilarious!"

yes i agree even tho having gone thru this i hated it at the time
Here, if you take the final road test on a scooter you are restricted to scooters. So after 5yrs of scooters and 8 months of CBR i had to take a road test >again< to remove scooter restriction.
Should not be able to use a scooter for tests then be able to ride a motorcycle.
but on the other hand, should not the same rules apply to cars? You never see a car license restricted to auto trans only if you took test with automatic. it is dishonest if you say there no difference. not everyone can drive a standard transmission car.
as to the op. i can see the value of an auto bike, especially in traffic.
To be honest, I was REALLY looking hard at the NC700X with the DCT/ABS option, seems that engine is VERY torquey down low. I just dig that storage area under the tank, but I also have to think about my commute which is only 4.1 miles to work from home, and that 700 engine (670cc's) will not get up to temp in that time I think.

If you take your test in an automatic in Great Britain, you can only drive automatic cars. In reality, most people take their test in a manual. Manual's are much more popular over here than automatics.

Good comments on DCT bikes. But I'd rather take a manual. I'll save the automatic for a car! I did test ride a Aprillia Mania and I was almost sold! But a comment was said about finding parts when you're broke down in a small town! Good luck! With Honda's and Harley V-Twin bikes, your chances are WAY better! Pretty much you won't have stay at a hotel!
