i dont think any additional rod length would be needed
for any setup,just move to another spine position forward...

you may have to fiddle with the shifter a bit to get to where it's adjusted just right(for yor taste/feel),i eventually took my actual shift lever off and moved counter clockwise a couple splines...

i didnt think of using on the bike but now may do just one or two of the LEDS...
