TBH I've never kept any other bike much longer...

TBH I've never kept any other bike much longer than a year or so, so I've not had the fork oil changed on any of my previous bikes. A quick Google found a range of recommendations for other bikes...

I can't think of any reason why that wouldn't work. I would recommend using the double feed though, if possible, to get an equal amount of oil on both sides of the chain.
