i've also seen on the R6 forum they have a seperate section for different locations. So there is An Australia forum where Aussies can discuss things about their bike and issues in a seperate section which would probably make it easier to organise group rides

Adventure Rider has a regional area for rides or local info as well as general areas. For my local area there is the Bay Area Riders Forum and local Meetup groups like Grouprides. Sometimes a gentle "nudge" toward the right sub forum can help.

A few of the forums could probably be combined like Performance and Appearance Mods, the problem is when you have a bunch of separate but confusingly similar areas so nobody knows where to post.
Actually Performance and Appearance are two very different topics. For example, I don't think that a thread about fender eliminators would belong in a Performance forum, just as you wouldn't have a thread dealing with final drive gearing in an Appearance forum. My point is that I think that by having a few more forums, including some sub-forums which are more specific would make it much less confusing for someone starting a new thread. Another example... a question about helmet shields, or hearing protection should clearly go in a forum dedicated to Riding Gear & Apparel. The whole idea here is to make it easier for someone starting a new thread, as well as those who are interested in a particular topic, to have those subjects in a dedicated forum, and be able to avoid sifting through all the clutter. To use a common household analogy, our closets are are becoming a bit of a cluster ****. I also believe that we would perhaps see the amount of redundant threads diminish, at least somewhat.

I was just thinking about that this morning. The abstraction of topics is also not clearly delineated. For example; "Parts & Accessories" and "Appearance & Modifications" are going to have a lot of threads redundant of each other. It'd be a lot of work for whoever will be in charge of implementing a new taxonomy on this site.

I think there could be a suspension, engine, exhaust and electrical category to keep it cleaner seeing as though there are plenty of threads on each of these topics alone. Oh! And don't forget the 'Do you think you've outgrown this bike?' category!

I could come up with a few drafts for more efficient layouts provided people and mods are interested in looking it over and I have enough caffeine to kill a small horse. y/n?
It's still a new website despite being what...a bit over year old? There are kinks to work out and as traffic increases, more problems come to light. It's a good thing
I like the randomness of the site. I don' really think its a big deal that the information gets categorized and or that people place the threads under the correct category. The only time categorization is handy is when trying to find a specific thread but with the search function you should be able to find it either way.
