clip-on fork placement

So I'm about to install my woodcraft clip-ons and when I fit them on they extend over the fork valve cap. Is this an issue, should I be concerned that I could damage the cap during tightening? I've read a few step by step install blogs but none mention this specific issue. I have not tinkered with any of the original fork settings so it should all be standard from the factory. I'm worried that dropping the triple tree to give the clamps more room will change my clearance and geometry of the bike too much. Unfortunately I fear I've bitten off too much as I'm not sure what I'm doing now. If any one has any experience with this I would greatly appreciate it. I've got a trackday in 3 days and am starting to stress out since I really don't know what I'm doing and what's allowable and safe, lol. thanks in advance.

It's normal for the small gap to be there. I didn't drop mine, at all, and they were fine.

You can easily drop the bike a inch to get a betting mounting area. It will make the bike turn in better and feel lighter too.

Are those the clip ons made for the 250 or made for another bike? They seem way too tall..
