Speedometer going up and down , bike dies.

Hey out there, my 2011 cbr250, dies intermittently , at about 3rd gear or so , it'll seem as if its sluggish then , speedo would jump from 30 to 60 then to 90 then dies. Any Suggestions Out there...Thanks in advance.

Copied to Problems and Issues; look for the answers there.

Could be an ECU problem; ECU doesn't use speed in calculating timing curves to my knowledge, so I don't think a speed sensor problem would cause your bike to stall. But, could also be a bad ground leading to the ECU that is also in the speed sensor bundle. Check all wiring and connections first.

Tis better to be thought a fool and remain silent, than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt.

First thing I would look at is the battery voltage. Check it before starting. It should be 12.7V or more.

If that's fine, check all of the battery terminal connections, ground connection to the frame, and eventually main connectors (for corrosion) and fuses for poor connections.
