Bad throttle position sensor

Does anybody have idea about a failing throttle position sensor,

Pretty sure you can check the TPS, and set it per spec, with an Ohm meter.

That would be the first thing to try. If it's bad I would think you wouldn't be able to get it set properly.

I would want to look at the plug color as well to determine if the mixture may be overly rich or lean, which may point you in the right direction if the TPS checks out.

Removing the air filter temporarily could also give you some indication. If it ran better without a filter it would tell you it's running rich. It should run worse if the mixture is correct or lean.

Faulty TPS would mean unstable RPM and erratic throttle action. Secondly, unstable idle and or rough idle can also mean a faulty or O2 sensor. Check your O2 sensor, make sure your IACV is checked, this is what helps keep the idle stable.
