Help with the Wiring Diagram Abbreviations

could someone please tell me what these abbreviation`s mean on the CBR 250 wiring diagram , SP SENS , TW SENS , SP EARTH , ING , TA SIG , SP SIG and GND would be ground ? thanks norman

So it sounds like you're looking at the Combination Meter on the wiring diagram, right?

Easiest method in deciphering these abbreviations is to follow each wire from the Combination Meter to the component or system that the wire connects to within the diagram. For example, from the Combination Meter, the SP SENS, SP EARTH, and SP SIG wires all go to the VS Sensor (Vehicle Speed Sensor). TA SIG wire goes to the ECM, for the Tachometer signal. TW SENS wire goes to the ECT sensor, for Coolant Temp Gauge signal. ING (solid Black wire) is for all the various lights, except for the Headlight, which is on its own fused circuit. And yes, GND is Ground.

1 more question , the brown wire in the speedometer diagram shows " position " what does position mean , i look at the diagram and it looks like it gos to the blinkers. is it a ground ?

It's not a ground wire (all grounds are green), rather it is the power wire to the two Position Lights that are located within the Headlight Housing, on either side of the main Headlight Bulb.
