Each to his own but I think my bike is worth looking after. I hope it will last me the rest of my riding days (I'm coming on 80).

I've been using Mobil 1 Racing oil (just for motorcycles) since the CBR was new. It's 10w40 but the oil is 100% synthetic and flows really well so it doesn't bother me about the 10w40 instead of of 30. The 40 is also extra protection when it's hot. It's 10 bucks a quart which is expensive but only 1.5 quarts every 4k miles doesn't bother me.
