Beginners Review on the Honda CBR250R

I found this review on motorcycle.com which had a beginners take on our cbr250r which covered quite a lot about our bike and was a good read.

I think this was posted not too long ago in here. It's a good review though, from a beginners perspective.

Hey guys I'm looking to purchase a new CBR250R next week-ish, a lot of reviews say it won't keep up on the Highways. Is this true? Highways here are mostly 100kmph but I say it would keep up. That's only roughly 60mph.. Cheers guys.

The bike will keep up easily, you wont have a lot of passing power unless you drop down a few gears. I have had mine up to 153KPH thats with wife and I on the bike in full gear, I'm 100 kilos shes 42 kilos. 312 lbs total, not including full gear so I would say 320 lbs all together.

Ok thanks so much. It was the CBR or the new Ninja 300, but going into my final year of high school, I'd rather not pay the extra $400 rego for the extra 50cc's.
Thanks again.

hey mate, it keeps up fine at 100kph+ but above 100kph the bike is working pretty hard. It has a bit in reserve for passing etc. but will kind of die after 120kph and take a bit longer to increase speed. I got up to $1.60 the other day and had to pull back because of a car in front so i could have kept going and it will keep up fine but doesn't accelerate that fast at higher speeds

the ninja 300 will certainly have a fair bit more power throughout the rev range and at higher speeds but the cbr is a great bike and if you want to save the $400 the cbr will be fine

Have you looked at and sat on the Ninja 300? That is one clean looking bike and makes the CBR looks nerdy in comparison. I'd gladly pay $400 extra for the Ninja, you might too.
